Irene M Russell, 100, of Henley, passed away peacefully at her home on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 5, 2020. She was born January 11, 1920, in Henley, Missouri to Melitta (Lit) Honaker and Minnie Hodge Honaker, both of whom preceded her in death. On January 13, 1939, she married Earl Russell, who preceded her in death on August 25, 2004. She was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church in Henley, Mo. A lifelong homemaker, taking care of family, friends or anyone that needed a helping hand. Irene enjoyed sewing, making quilts and baking. Everyone loved her famous Peach Cobbler and Homemade Chicken & Noodles. The most important thing in her life was spending time with FAMILY. She was a proud supporter of any activity her grandchildren participated in from Rodeos, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Motocross, 4-H Shows, and Trout Fishing. She traveled as far as New York to watch her grandson in the Babe Ruth World Series. Events would typically end with a trip through a McDonald's drive thru for a Cheeseburger NO KETCHUP, small fries and a Senior Coke, BUT don't forget the ketchup for her fries! She is survived by one daughter, Judy (Cecil) Roark of Henley; grandchildren, Lisa (Bill) Bashore of Eugene, Lynette (David) Procter of Henley, Aaron (Nicki) Russell of Jefferson City, Tammy Pearon of Jefferson City, and Renae Russell-Woodberry of Eugene; great-grandchildren, Brandon (Lana) Bashore of Henley, Adam (Katie) Bashore of Henley, Dakota Procter of St. Charles, Sierra (Mason) Procter-Alderman of Tuscumbia, Adrian Russell of Springfield, Alex (Shelby) Russell of Holts Summit, Austin (Kaylee) Russell of Marys Home, Garrett, Claire, and Courtney Russell of Jefferson City; great-great- grandchildren, Rylee, Jackson, Avery and Tristen Bashore, Bentley and Shane Russell, Jessie Woodberry. Irene was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter; a son, Larry Russell; and grandson, Craig Russell. She also was preceded in death by four sisters, Flossie Emmerich, Elsie Reed, Pearl Emmerich and Fern Sloan; one brother, Chester Honaker. Visitation will be Sunday, February 9, 2020, from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Weber Funeral Home, Russellville, Mo. Funeral services will be held at Spring Valley Baptist Church in Henley, Mo. at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Hoskins officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Hill cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Boys Town or to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Weber Funeral Home, Russellville, Mo.
