Thomas Lambert Smith, 70, of Jefferson City, passed away on Saturday, February, 1, 2020, at Villa Marie. He was born on July 6, 1949, in Worthington, Minnesota, the son of the late Lambert E. and Elaine (Tolzin) Smith. Tom was a 1967 graduate of Eden Valley High School in Eden Valley, Minnesota. He graduated in 1969, from Willmar Technical College with a degree in drafting. Tom worked 40 years in that field. On October 11, 1986, he was united in marriage to Monica Fast, who survives at the home. Tom worked for MTS in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, for 16 years before moving to Missouri. He was proud to be a part of the pioneering technologies they used and produced. In 1986, he moved to Jefferson City and was employed by Unilever until his retirement in 2009. Tom enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, watching NASCAR, movies and old westerns. Other survivors include his children: Michael Smith (Olivia) of Fulton, Cassandra Stone (Austin) of Jefferson City and Larry Rackers (Kyra) of Bonnots Mill; grandchildren: Camden Lee Rackers, Lara Kathleen Rackers, Mabry Ann Rackers, Luke Lambert Smith, Jude Thomas Stone and another on the way; brothers: Mitchell Smith (Carol) of Alexandria, Minnesota, Scott Smith (Gail) of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Douglas Smith of Minneapolis, Minnesota; aunt: Marion Nelson of Spokane, Washington, and numerous family and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Patricia Patterson; brother: Charles Smith and granddaughter: Ava Nicole Smith, who was born on his birthday and was his pride and joy. Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Sam Powell officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
