Theresa Lee Rush

Theresa Rush, 91, of Mary's Home, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Miller County Care Center in Tuscumbia, Missouri. She was born April 24, 1928 in Mary's Home, Missouri, the daughter of the late John Henry and Florence (Schulte) Lueckenhoff. On May 14, 1949 in Mary's Home, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Carl Kenneth Rush, who preceded her in death on May 23, 1999. Theresa was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church her entire life. She was very involved in her parish and was a very faithful and devoted person. She spent many hours at the quilting club, quilting many quilts and making pieced quilt tops for the parish picnic. After she graduated from the 8th grade she then worked for many families that needed help. She was employed at Tweedies Factory in Jefferson City and a short time in St. Louis, Mo. before she married. She was a constant partner to her husband Carl on the farm. She loved being outdoors and tending to her garden and flowers. She had a true GREEN thumb, she could make almost anything grow. Her most pride was her family and always had time for them. Survivors include: Children, Anthony "Tony" Rush (Linda) of Holts Summit, Mo.; Judy Kesel (Robert) of St. Elizabeth, Mo.; Albert "Al" Rush (Karen) of St. Peter's, Mo.; Catherine Kliethermes (Paul) of St. Anthony, Mo.; Carol Otto (Mark) of St. Anthony, Mo.; Ray Rush (Jean) of Mary's Home, Mo.; Dale Rush (Darlene) of Mary's Home, Mo.; Carla Temmen (Kenneth) of Folk, Mo.; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Berendzen of Mary's Home, Mo. and Rita Clarkston of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, August Lueckenhoff (Carol) of Springfield, Mo.; and one sister-in-law, Adele Lueckenhoff of Wardsville, Mo. A sister, Lucille Bungart, and a brother, Lawrence Lueckenhoff, preceded her in death. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church with a Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 10 a.m., also at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church with Rev. Joby Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery. Memorials in her name are suggested to Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church or Hospice Compassus. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, Mo.
