Bob L. Pierce, 88, of Jefferson City, died Monday, December 14, 2020, at Adams Street Place. He was born February 15, 1932, in Albany, Missouri, the son of Morris R. and Ora Belle (Spainhower) Pierce. On September 14, 1951, Bob was united in marriage to JoAnn Miller, who survives at their home. Bob was a 1951 graduate of Albany High School. After moving to Kansas City, he graduated from Central Technical Institute of Kansas City in 1955. He later attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, earning a B.S. degree in 1962, with a major in marketing. He worked for various jobs in the electronics and business related fields. Bob and JoAnn ran the Jameson Permit Service for eight years and the Action Permit Service for eight years, both in Jefferson City. He also worked for KOMU-TV in Columbia and KRCG-TV in Jefferson City as an operating engineer. Bob was a kind and gentle person. He was baptized in First Baptist Church of Albany, Mo., at an early age and was a member of the First Church of God in Jefferson City. In addition to his wife JoAnn, his is survived by one son, Randy Pierce (Kathy) of Jefferson City; one daughter, Vicki Mote (Sherrill) of Iberia; four grandchildren: Gabe Pierce (Blair Oxenhandler), Ilana Morgan (Nicholas), Josiah Mote (Penny) Isaac Mote (Hannah); and six great-grandchildren: Logan Pierce, Marki Pierce, Gabe Morgan, Ila Morgan, Maggie Mote and Crosby Mote. He was preceded in death by one sister, Carmeta Robertson. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2020, at the First Church of God, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joe Gregory officiating. Entombment will follow in the Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
