Mildred J. Riegel Falter

Mildred J. Riegel Falter, age 81, of Linn, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020, at SSM Health St. Mary's in Jefferson City. Mildred was born December 7, 1938, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Alphonse and Elizabeth (Falter) Bock. She was a 1956 graduate of Fatima High School. On January 12, 1957, she was united in marriage to Joseph J. Riegel in Westphalia. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1996. On November 28, 1998, she was united in marriage to Roman J. Falter in Linn. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2018. Mildred was employed at Linn Manufacturing until the factory closed. She then went to work for the Missouri Department of Revenue in Jefferson City for 27 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality. Mildred was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed cooking, making pies, traveling, and spending time with her family. Mildred is survived by: two daughters, Delores Rose and her husband Paul of Wardsville and Arlene Taylor and her husband Joe of Jefferson City; one son, Stanley Riegel and his wife Pat of Linn; a daughter-in-law, Patty Riegel of Linn; three step-children, Sandy (Alvin) Bexten of Westphalia, Sarah (Paul) Sarantakos of Gibson City, Ill., and Donna (Mark) Schmitz of Argyle; seven grandchildren, Amy (Nathan) Moore, Chris (Lesley) Rose, Melissa (Michael) Frank, Jessica Riegel, Jared Riegel, Kathryn Taylor, and Brian (Dawn) Taylor; six step-grandchildren, Jesse (Missy) Bexten, Samuel (Nichole) Bexten, Frederick (Michelle) Sarantakos, James Sarantakos, Joseph (Christine) Schmitz and Angela Bax; five great-grandchildren, Amelia and Brendan Rose, Elise and Caroline Moore and Paige Frank; seven step-great grandchildren, Isaiah, Noah, Alex, Molly, and Jonah Bexten and Adam and Benjamin Schmitz; one brother, Arthur Bock and his wife Ruth of Freeburg; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and spouses, Mildred was preceded in death by: one son, Harvey Riegel; and three sisters, Bernita Thoenen, Marcella Bock, and Theresa Huber. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at St. George Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Rev. Colin Franklin as the Celebrant. Interment will be in the St. George Parish Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. George Catholic Church in Linn.
