Mary Katherine Weith

Mary Katherine Weith, age 88, of Westphalia, Mo., formerly of Jefferson City and Gasconade, Mo., passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 at Westphalia Hills. Mrs. Weith was born December 21, 1931 at Rhineland, Mo., the daughter of Wessel C. and Leona P. (nee VanBooven ) Theissen. On October 25, 1947, she was united in marriage to Kenneth R. " Dick" Weith, and to this union five children were born. Mary and Dick lived and raised their family in Gasconade, Mo. She owned and operated Mary's Place in Gasconade for several years. She will mostly be remembered for driving a school bus for Gasconade Co. R-1 Schools for over 20 years. She was a former member of the Hermann Bridle and Saddle Club, and the Rough Country Trail Riders. After her retirement she moved to Jefferson City to be closer to her children. She is survived by three daughters, Kathy Winge and husband Gary, Jefferson City; Marilyn K. Stephan and husband Dave, Linn; Carolyn Redden and husband Wayne, Jefferson City; two sons, Clifford V. Weith and wife Karen, Parkville, and Kenneth R. Weith Jr. and wife Kim, Jefferson City; four sisters, Flora Mae Jones, Imperial; Betty Lou Whayne and husband Omer, St. Louis; Ruth Ann Tipton, St. Louis; Martha Jane Decker and husband Leroy, St. Louis; one brother, Rudolph Theissen and wife Pat, Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Neoma Craig and Francis Weissenbach; and two brothers, Glendo and Donald (Buck) Theissen. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 25 from Noon until 2 p.m. at the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Mo. with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that everyone attending the visitation or service to wear a mask. Burial will be at the Gasconade Cemetery, Gasconade, Mo. The family requests memorials to Gasconade Union Church or the Gasconade Cemetery.
