Charles Wayne Tuttle, age 66, of Cotton, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at his home. He was born on August 31, 1953, at the Latham Hospital in California, Mo., the son of Warren "Gene" and Leola Fern Long Tuttle, both of whom preceded him in death. Charles graduated from Tipton High School in 1971. He was married to Patricia Wieners at Oakland Baptist Church on February 26, 1994. He worked at Unilever in Jefferson City as a mechanic for 37 years. After his retirement in 2008, he raised cattle and worked around the farm. He served as a Deacon at Oakland Baptist Church and was an assistant preschool Sunday School teacher. He was a board member of the Tipton Volunteer Fire Department. Charles loved his farm and spending time with his family and grandkids. His work with his "extended family" MO Baptist Disaster Relief, with his wife, was his "passion". Material things were never important to him, instead his life was focused on giving his time to his family and communities in need. Along with his wife, Patty, Charles is survived by his sons, Charles E. Tuttle (Brandy) of Lee's Summit, Ty Tuttle of Byers, Colo., and Nick Tuttle of Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Tracy Serstad (Aaron) of Oxford, Wis.; four step-daughters, Shelly Klatt (Ryan) of Jefferson City, Sheila Brenneke (James) of Jefferson City, Sheila Dedrick (Carl) of Jefferson City, and Angie Adduci (Frank) of Holts Summit; three brothers, David Tuttle (Debbie), Richard Tuttle (Sherry), Mike Tuttle (Jeannie), all of Cotton; four sisters, Judy Oppermann (Steve) of Tipton, Bonnie Allee (Larry) of California, Rhonda Miller (John) of Syracuse, and Rita Pace (David) of Fortuna; sister-in-law, Margaret Tuttle of Tipton; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his brother, Dean Tuttle. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2020, from 2-5 p.m. at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020, at Oakland Baptist at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Andrew Kuttenkuler officiating. Interment will follow at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to MO Baptist Disaster Relief. Online messages to the family may be contributed at www.windmillridgefuneralservice.com.
