Clyde (CH) Cassil, 66 of Jamestown, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a long battle with liver and kidney disease. C.H. was born on March 15, 1954, to Clyde and Catherine Potter Cassil in California, Missouri who preceded him in death. He was a member of the Lupus Baptist Church and former member of the Jamestown Assembly of God Church. C.H. worked for the University of Missouri as a Senior Research Technician for 26 years. C.H. was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. C.H. enjoyed hunting and collecting guns. His greatest joy in life was his kids and grandkids. He loved all sports, but fastpitch softball was his passion. He coached many kids throughout the years. C.H. could and would do anything for anyone. There was nothing that he could not fix or make just a little better. He worked hard, played hard and enjoyed every ounce of his life, until his illness would no longer allow. C.H. is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cheryl George Cassil, the light and love of his life, whom he married on June 14, 1975, at Main Street Baptist Church in California, Mo.; daughter, Shawna (Brent) Schnieders of Jefferson City, Mo.; son, Jeremy (Michele) Cassil of Centertown, Mo.; five grandchildren, Blake Scholl, Kaden Cassil, Cameron Schnieders, Klara Cassil and Reece Schnieders; father-in-law, J.R. George of Jamestown, Mo.; two brothers, J.T (Mary) Cassil of Jamestown, Mo., Philip Cassil of Jamestown, Mo.; two sisters, Helen Schlup of California, Mo. and Gracie Flippin of California, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Gerald Borts of California, Mo.; and sister-in-law, Susan (Joe) Brockhaus of Warrensburg, Mo. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty George; sister, Peggy Borts; and brother-in-law, Eddie Schlup. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. at Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Home in California, Mo. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Home in California, Mo. Officiating will be Pastor William Bolden. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery near Jamestown, Mo. Memorials are suggested to the Mount Zion Cemetery c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services.
