Forrest Michael Edward Claypool IV, age 80, of Jefferson City, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family and his ever faithful dog, Cissy. He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on July 22, 1940, son of the late Forrest Claypool III and Ruth (Burns) Claypool. Forrest graduated from The Ohio State University and honorably served in the United States Army. After his military service, he settled in sunny south Florida and on September 5, 1987 married Carmen Marie Nevers, who survives him at their home. Forrest retired as Director from Faith Farm Ministries in 2004. He then relocated with his family to Albany, Georgia, before finally settling in Jefferson City, Missouri in 2007. Over the next 13 years he worked part time at Schulte's Fresh Foods, a job that was personally fulfilling for him during his retirement. Never one to rest on his laurels, Forrest spent his retirement working at Schulte's, visiting the YMCA, and marshalling at the Oak Hills Golf Course. Forrest was an avid golfer, a fervent fan of his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes, and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He was a member of Southridge Baptist Church in Jefferson City. In addition to his loving wife, Carmen Claypool, he is also survived by four daughters, Anna Joy Thomas, Sarah Horton, Elisabeth Robinson, and Cindy Benson; one son, Michael Benson; four grandchildren, Siiri Parks, Regan Vickery, Paul Robinson Jr., William Forrest Horton; and one niece, Victoria Libertore. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin sister, Marsha (Claypool) Libertore. The family is holding a private memorial service to celebrate his life.
