Margaret Jean Raithel

Margaret Jean Raithel, 93, passed away on March 30, 2020, at her home in Kansas City, Missouri from natural causes. She was born on May 31, 1926, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Cecil Loethen and Bessie Ann Anglin. She was married in 1955, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Victor Edward Raithel, who preceded her in death. Margaret is survived by four children, two daughters: Mary Margaret Raithel Mitchell of Kansas City, Mo. and Darlene Imler (Marion) of Diberville, Miss.; two sons: Wilbur Gooch (Margaret) of Hartsburg, Mo. and James Gooch (Charlotte) of Jefferson City, Mo.; one sister: Patsy Holland of Holts Summit, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and six great- great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Bobby and Harry Loethen and three sisters: Bonnie Campbell, Nellie Lootens and Fay Hopkins. She worked for the Black & White Cab, and Yellow Cab companies where she met her husband, and then later on worked at Von Hoffman Press for the rest of her working years. She was a loving wife and mother who would do anything for them. She loved people and would give the shirt off her back for anyone in need. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
