William "Bill" Silvey, 83, of Jefferson City, passed on Monday, April 13, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 18, 1936 in Versailles, a son of the late Harry and Dorothy (Moore) Silvey. He was united in marriage to Thelma Gee on December 17, 2006 in Jefferson City. He was a 1954 graduate of Versailles High School. Bill joined the Army in 1955 and began his career in the Exchange Services industry. After his discharge from the Army he continued to work for the government in the same capacity until his retirement in 1986. Bill enjoyed sports and followed several college and professional teams. He was active in the American Legion and Masonic Lodge and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Most of all, Bill treasured the memories created with his family. He is survived by his wife: Thelma Silvey; children: Vickie Herrington (Dan), William E. Silvey (Jeanette), Bobbie Garber (Tony), Lorie Fryatt (Bud), Dorothy David (Jim), Donna Sinnett (Bart), and Dan Silvey (Jenny); 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral Services are private for the family. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
