Melva was born January 8, 1937 in the Chamois area to the late John Ishmael Kronk and Kathryn Jean (Howard) Kronk. Flower gardening, sewing and putting jigsaw puzzles together also gave her great satisfaction. In addition to her husband Sam, Melva is survived by her three children: Rhonda Nichols Mitchem (Delmar) of Chamois, Sherri Nichols Holtgrewe of Jefferson City, and Eric Nichols (Susan) of Portland, Mo.; three grandchildren, Heather Northway (Scott), Shauna Holtgrewe, and Molly Nichols; and four great-grandchildren: Tanner Mitchem, Bailey Northway, Landen Northway and Zacchaeus Holtgrewe. Melva is also survived by her two sisters, Carole Stewart and Charlotte Schaperclaus. Treasured family pet, Bingo, also survives of the home. In addition to her parents, Melva was preceded in death by grandson, Ryan Mitchem. Church and graveside services will be announced and held at a later date.
