Darrell W. Wells

Darrell W. Wells, 79, of Jefferson City, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020, at his home. He was born on January 5, 1941, in Bakersfield, California, the son of Samuel and Terri "Christine" (Killion) Wells. Darrell was united in marriage on November 17, 1969, to Karen Kilburn in Kennett, Missouri. Darrell was a 1958 graduate of Caruth High School in Caruth, Missouri. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959 until 1962. Darrell was employed with Baker Implement for over 18 years. He obtained his Certified Public Accountant license and began working of the State of Missouri. Darrell was financial administrator of the Licensure Unit for Nursing Homes with the Department of Health and Human Services at the time of his retirement in 2003. Darrell enjoyed reading and traveling in his earlier years. After his retirement, he would sit outdoors and watch the birds and squirrels. Most of all, Darrell cherished the times spent with his family. Darrell is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen; sons: Wayne A. Wells, Darren L. Wells, Matthew C. Wells, Samuel I. Wells III and Timothy G. Wells; grandchildren: Nataleigh Wells, Samantha Wells, Zachary Wells, James Wells and Arabella Wells; sister: Regina Spencer; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Samuel and Terri "Christine"; grandparents: Dock Killion, Myrtle Killion, Samuel Wells, Alice Wells; and parents-in-law: Glenn and Verniece Kilburn. Private family services will be held with interment following in Riverview Cemetery.
