William John "Bill" Boes, 86, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully and quietly, as he lived his life, on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, in the presence of his loving family at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. He was born November 15, 1932, in Luystown, Missouri, the son and fourth child of the late George and Anna M. (Oidtman) Boes. He was a 1950 graduate of St. Peter High School. William served in the United States Army from January of 1953 to January of 1955 and in the US Army Reserves. He was united in marriage at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on October 10, 1954, in Jefferson City to Norma Jean Bolten who survives at the home. Bill was active in his parish, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, especially in the Holy Name Society, and in his faithful dedication to the Knights of Columbus. He was a lifetime member and past Grand Knight of Helias Council 1054 and a lifetime member and past Faithful Navigator of Dan C. Coppin Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He also served as District Deputy for a number of years. He worked in the soft water industry for 25 years and worked for the Highway Patrol Headquarters as a Maintenance Foreman for 13 years, retiring in 1997. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Norma Jean Boes, Jefferson City; five children, Karen (Andy) Petti, Alton, Mo., Cheryl (Mike) Gregory, Columbia, Mo., Lisa Henegar, Pearl, Miss., Janet (David) Perrey, Jefferson City, Gregory (Ann) Boes, Bismarck, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Nelson (Opal) Boes; and two sisters, Norma (Wilfred) Kraus and Katheryn (Robert) Stokes. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2019, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Antweiler officiating. Entombment with military honors will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Endowment Fund, 1206 E.
