Larry Paul Smith, 69, of Holts Summit, Mo., passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019, at his residence. He was born on January 25, 1950, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Charles Smith and Genieve Thompson, both of whom preceded him in death. Larry was united in marriage to Maria Barnoske on February 12, 1977, in the state of California who resides at the home. He was a graduate of Russellville High School. Larry joined the United States Marine Corps and served for 10 years. He served three tours in Vietnam and also was a POW in Vietnam. He worked as a union boilermaker and also Managed Goodyear Tire company in Jefferson City, Mo. and also in Columbia, Mo. for 10 years. Larry enjoyed hot rods, NASCAR, dirt track racing, traveling and especially cruises. He was always known to put others needs or wants before his own. Larry loved his family more than anything in the world. Survivors include one son: Steven Smith of Holts Summit; four brothers: Danny Smith and wife Missy of Russellville, Mo., Gary Smith and wife Nina of Jefferson City, Mo., Steve Smith and wife Karen of Russellville, Mo. and Carl Smith also of Russellville, Mo.; two sisters: Barbara Eddy and husband Jerry of Lohman, Mo. and Juanita Graham and husband Larry also of Lohman, Mo.; two grandchildren, Allison Wilbers and Austin P. Manley. Larry was preceded in death by one daughter: Angel Smith in 2012; one brother: Jack Smith; one sister: Lola James and one granddaughter: Daisey Manley. Visitation will be at BowlinCantriel Funeral Home in California, Mo. Thursday, May 30, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be at BowlinCantriel Funeral Home Chapel in California, Mo. Thursday, May 30, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Centertown City Cemetery. Memorial are suggested to the Camp Hickory Hill c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo.
