Douglass S. Weidner, age 84, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Arrowhead Senior Living in Osage Beach, Missouri. Douglass was born September 22, 1934 in Reading, Pennsylvania, the son of Douglass E. and Mary (Sartorius) Weidner. Douglass graduated from Reading High School in 1952 and attended Albright College. He obtained a DPM from Temple University School of Podiatry in 1957. Douglass entered the US Navy where he attended the OCS course and received a rank of Ensign. In September of 1960, he transferred to the US Army and retired in 1977. Douglass started a private practice in Laurie, Missouri and medically retired in 1996 and in 2002 returned to part time practice, serving nursing homes in central Missouri. Douglass was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed nature and was most happy being outside. Douglass was a longtime resident in the Lake of the Ozarks are since 1977. He has a longtime companion, Doris J. Borgmeyer of Jefferson City, Missouri; a daughter, Noelle Parker and husband Mike; three grandsons, Adam Robbins and wife Stephanie, Nicholas Robbins, and Noah Parker; and great-granddaughter, Mary Lilly Robbins. Services with Military Honors will be held Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Missouri. Following military service, a Celebration of Life will be held at Mt. Gideon Baptist Church, 2581 Old Springfield Road, Waynesville, Missouri. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Central Missouri Honor Flight.
