Amondalene (Monda) Whithaus

Amondalene (Monda) Whithaus, 85, of Eureka, formerly from Chamois, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2019, at St. Clare Hospital. She was born in 1933 in Bland, the daughter of the late Martin and Barbara (Crider) Gerloff. She was united in marriage on January 26, 1952, to Orville Whithaus. He survives at the home. She was employed at Continental Can and Stone Container. She was a member of Chamois United Methodist Church in Chamois and the Chamois Lions Community Center. She loved to cross stitch and has a lot of her work framed and hanging in their apartment. She also loved her family unconditionally. She is survived by her husband Orville H. Whithaus; three sisters: Josephine Witthaus of Iowa, Dorothalene Mowery of Ellisville, and Sharon Pemberton and husband Joe of Wildwood; one brother: Roger Gerloff and wife Shirley of Chamois; although they were not blessed with their own children, they were blessed to have Leslie Miller come into their lives and they consider her their adopted granddaughter, her husband Drew and great-granddaughter Landry. She had numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Erelene Traschel, Helen Murphy, and Brenda Brandt; three brothers: Raymond Gerloff, Leo Gerloff Sr., and Dorsia Gerloff. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 24, 2019, at the Chamois United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 25, 2019, at the Chamois United Methodist Church with Pastor Eric Winslow officiating. Interment will follow at the Good Hope Cemetery in Morrison. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Chamois United Methodist Church or Chamois Lions Club.
