Angela Sue Pyatt, 54, of Columbia, took her last earthly breath on Monday, February 11, 2019, surrounded by the love of her family. Angela is preceded in death by previous husbands, Terry Jones and Arnold Bailey; her father, Robert Jenkins; mother, Margaret Carter; step-father, Don Carter; brothers, Robert Jenkins, Kenneth Jenkins, and Ronald Roark; and sister Mary Askew. Angela is survived by her husband, Rick Pyatt; daughter, Tosha Jones and her husband Louie Owens Jr.; daughter, Rachel Jones; son, Justin Bailey and his husband Jesse Bailey; sisters, Doris Burk, Glinda Thomas, and Joann Belisle; grandchildren, Elijah Owens, Savannah Jones, Noah Owens, Cecilia Jones, Skylar Moriarty, and Gavin Jones; and a great many stepchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Angela was born at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City to Robert and Margaret Jenkins on May 8, 1964. She attended New Bloomfield School before her marriage to Terry Jones of Greenville, South Carolina in 1979. This marriage bore two daughters and later ended in divorce. She married Arnold Bailey of Vichy, Missouri in 1990. The couple shared a son and later divorced amicably. Angela married Rick Pyatt from St. Genevieve, Missouri in 2005. She studied American Sign Language at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. She worked her whole life serving others, most notably at Sphinx Oil in South Carolina: The Jungle in Jefferson City, Mo.; Missouri School for the Deaf, Mom's Corner Café, and Missouri State Hospital in Fulton, Mo., and Busenbark Flooring and Granite in Columbia, Mo. Her most recent career endeavor was driving over the road as a partner with her husband for Pegasus Trucking Company in Fishersville, Ky. She spent a portion of her free time volunteering as a church bus driver for Solid Rock Family Church in Jefferson City, Mo. and delivering meals to those in need across Callaway County, Mo. for Meals on Wheels. Angela was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Fulton, Mo. She valued her family above anything else and loved to spend time with her husband, children, and grandchildren at every single opportunity. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia, Missouri. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Mindy Kiepe, will follow at 3 p.m. with open doors to all who knew and loved her. Memorials may be given to the educational fund for Angela's greatest love, her grandchildren. The family of Angela Pyatt wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Cancer Treatment Center's of America in Tulsa, OK and the University of Missouri Hospital ICU Nursing Staff and Hospice Compassus in Columbia, Mo. They also wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to Justin Bailey's husband, Jesse Bailey, for his role in caring for Angela and ensuring her wishes were carried out in her final moments. The family also invites those who knew and loved her to celebrate her life with them by wearing her favorite color, purple.
