Richard "Dick" P. Gentges, age 78, of Loose Creek, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019, at his residence. Dick was born January 26, 1941, in Frankenstein, a son to the late Joseph and Rose (Jaegers) Gentges. Dick was a 1959 graduate of Fatima High School. He was a lifelong farmer raising cattle and crops. He enjoyed planting a seed and watching it grow. Dick farmed for 50 years before retiring his combine in the fall 2018. Dick was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeire 2693 of Jefferson City and Loose Creek Community Center. Dick always found time to stop and chat with his friends either on the Ridge, at Coffee Bar, MFA, and just about anywhere he went. He enjoyed deer camp and cards, drinking beer and BBQ while listening to the Cardinal game, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his girls and their families. Dick is survived by: four daughters, Jackie Russler and her husband Jeff of Jefferson City, Vicki Binkley and her husband Gail of Eugene, Tammy Mead and her husband Justin of Westminster, Colo. and Sandra "Sam" Wilson and her husband Drew of Grapevine, Texas; one brother, Jim Gentges of Frankenstein; one sister, Generose Dudenhoeffer of Frankenstein; 12 grandchildren, Kelsey (Kyle) Riggs, Lauren (Ian) Ogden, Christina Binkley, Jon (Kali) Binkley, Sierra, Alexis, and Mariah Binkley, Riley and Evan Mead, Nolan, Luke and Dane Wilson; 10 great-grandchildren, with another one due in September; one sister-in-law, Sharon Gentges of Frankenstein; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved cat, Rosie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Gentges; two sisters, Virginia Kirsch and Betsy Keller; a sister-in-law, Kay Gentges and three brothers-in-law, George Dudenhoeffer, Bob Kirsch, and Jim Keller; and his chocolate lab, Cocoa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek.
