Linda June (Slaughter) Bowers

Linda June (Slaughter) Bowers, 71, of Jefferson City, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019, at St. Mary's Health Center, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 17, 1948, Kirksville; a daughter of Victor and Janice (Muff) Slaughter, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Dr. Richard Bowers on March 1, 1969, in Queen City, Missouri. Family was her life: her most treasured times were spent with her husband, children and many grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, and legos! Her loving spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard; children: Amy Gaffney (David), Stacy Libey (Brian), Kelly Bowers (Mark Bauridl), and Eric Bowers (Carrie Watkins); brother: Larry Slaughter (Karen); brother-in-law: Danny Bowers; grandchildren: Elias and Ian Gaffney, Bailey, Riley, Avery, Casey and Brady Pointer, Logan Nichols, Oliva Libey, Alex Amsberg, Ava Meinhardt, Luke Bauridl, Audrey Bowers, and Gabriel Watkins; great-grandchildren: Kaydence, Scarlett, Harley, Elora, Lilian and Eleanor (coming in November) Pointer and a host of nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her brothers: Russell and Neil Slaughter and brother-in-law: Ronald Bowers. Services are private for the family.
