James "Jim" Herbert Bock, age 70, of Meta, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at his home. He was born in Jefferson City, on January 5, 1949, son of the late Herbert and Rosa Helen (Hodge) Bock. Jim honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Eagles. In addition to hunting, fishing, and farming, Jim also enjoyed spending time at Miss Kitty's in St. Elizabeth having a good meal and visiting friends. Jim co-owned and operated C&J Hauling for many years where he was often requested for his dump truck expertise and was also employed at Wieberg Ready Mix. He is survived by one son, Terry Bock and wife Julie of Meta; daughter, Carrie Kleffner and husband Patrick of Vienna; six grandchildren, Sophie Bock, Reagan Bock, Eli Bock, Seth Kleffner, Ryan Kleffner, and Zach Kleffner; brother, Edward Bock and wife Darlene of Meta; sister, Mary Jacobs and husband Joe of Oklahoma; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends. Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 11, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta with Janie Bock officiating. Interment with military honors will be at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Meta. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Memorial contributions are suggested to the James Bock Memorial Fund.
