James "Jim" J. Wolfe

James "Jim" J. Wolfe, age 87, of Linn, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at General Baptist Nursing Home in Linn. Jim was born April 15, 1931, in Linn, a son to the late James W. and Tillie C. (Litton) Wolfe. Jim was a 1948 graduate of Linn High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On November 8, 1975, he was united in marriage to Debbie Crowe in Linn. She survives of the home. Jim worked as a contractor for several years building senior housing around the state and was a lifelong farmer raising cattle and crops. Jim was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of VFW Post #4756 and the Linn Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed looking for arrowheads, working on his John Deere tractors and spending time with his family. In addition to his spouse of 43 years, Jim is survived by: one daughter, Karen Carlin and her husband Doug of Linn; three sons, Tracy Wolfe and his wife Debbie of Villa Ridge, Chris Wolfe of Linn and Jay Wolfe and his wife Amanda of Linn; three sisters, Juanita Branson of Kirkwood, Dorothy Branson and her husband Bob of Linn, and Barbara Maasen and her husband Gary of Linn; 14 grandchildren, Tim Hamburg, Nick Nilges, Bobby Pursifull, Andy Wolfe, Ryan Pursifull, Cassie Sneller, Darren Pursifull, Lane Wolfe, Lori Wolfe, Cody Wolfe, Zachary Wolfe, Charlotte Wolfe, Austin Wolfe and Tyler Wolfe; 19 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one sister-in-law, Joann Wolfe of St. Charles; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donnie Wolfe and one sister, Lucille Turner. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019, at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Judge with Rev. Dan Bauder and Rev. Perry Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in the Solid Rock Cemetery with full Military Honors. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Alzheimer's Association or the Women's and Children's Hospital in Columbia.
