Robert "Bob" K. Kliethermes, 78, a lifelong resident of Jefferson City, Missouri passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the E.W. Thompson Health and Rehab Center in Sedalia, Missouri. Bob was born on December 6, 1939 in Jefferson City, Missouri, a son of the late Arthur and Irene Prenger Kliethermes. He was married on June 3, 1961 to his beloved wife, Caroline "Sue" Moses. Bob was part of the first graduating class from Helias Catholic High School in 1957 and was a proud member of Carpenters Local #945 for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie 2693. Bob was well known for making hunting knives. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, Cardinals baseball and The University of Missouri Tiger football and basketball. You would often see Bob having his morning coffee with friends at the McDonalds on Eastland Drive where he always came out smarter than he was when he went in. Along with Bob's loving wife Sue, he is survived by one son, Mitch (Darlene) Kliethermes of Jefferson City; one daughter, Kerri (Gerald) Mertens of Jefferson City; five brothers: Dale (JoAnn) Kliethermes of Jefferson City, Tom (Lois) Kliethermes of Holts Summit, Jim (Jan) Kliethermes of Jefferson City, Rich (Sharon) Kliethermes of Rolla and Ronnie (Debbie) Kliethermes of Jefferson City; one sister, Barbara Allen of Green Ridge, Missouri; two grandchildren: Jayme (Doug) Quisenberry of Kansas City and Shaun Snellen of Jefferson City; and two great- grandchildren: Ali and Cooper Snellen. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Keith Allen. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2018, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at The Cathedral of St. Joseph.
