Heather Leigh Dougherty

Heather Leigh Dougherty, 34, of Russellville, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018. She was born on September 30, 1983 in Independence, Missouri, a daughter of Jon Dougherty of Jefferson City and Michele "Shelly" Dougherty of Centertown. Heather graduated from Helias High School in 2002. She enjoyed watching the wrestling team cheering for her brother and nephew. Heather loved listening to music, dancing, Mizzou football, and all animals especially her Bichon, Dolce'. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and most of all her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her mother: Shelly Dougherty of Centertown; father: Jon (Sandra) Dougherty of Jefferson City; one brother: Zachary (Shyra) Dougherty of Mary's Home; three sisters: Ashley (Rick) Bates of Lohman, Heather (Shawn) Kinworthy of Henley, and Lindsey Dahler of Jefferson City; maternal grandfather: Bob Ferguson of Centertown; paternal grandmother: Diana McClelland of Quincy, Illinois; paternal grandfather: Terry (Deb) Dougherty of Venice, Florida; eight nieces and nephews: Taya Burton, Trey Burton, Tyler Burton, Rhys Bates, Kael Fuller-Dougherty, Gabriel Dougherty, Elliana Dahler and Anniston Dahler; special friend: Jared Stewart of Russellville; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Heather was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Marie Ferguson, and paternal grandfather, Louis McClelland. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 7, 2018 at St. Martin Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 at St. Martin Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Porterfield officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
