Betty Ann Hopkins

Betty Ann Hopkins, 91, passed away at 1:00 pm on October 23, 2018 as a resident at Jefferson City Manor Care. Betty retired in 1998 from Lincoln University as the Administrative Assistant to Dr. Gary Scott-Dean of the Graduate School and Continuing Education for 14 years. Prior to that, Betty was Secretary to the Chief Naturalist at Mount Rainier National Park for 4 years. Prior to that Betty was the Assistant City Clerk for the city of Keokuk, Iowa for 20 years. Betty was a Christian and believer in Jesus Christ. Betty loved to Country dance and was a member of the Jefferson City Boot Scooters Dance Club. She loved to play the card games of Bridge and Rummy with her friends and family. Betty loved to work on her property mowing grass, weed-eating and clearing brush and growing flowers and vegetables. She was a loving wife and survived by her spouse Robert Hopkins, a loving mother survived by her son Paul Malkin and daughter-in-law Dr. Joan Warren in Indio, California, a loving grandmother survived by granddaughters Celeste Malkin in Moreno Valley, California and Mallory Snipes in Chicago, Illinois and a loving sister survived by sister Patty Henderson in Grand Junction, Colorado. She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Ed and Viola Burfeind, her brother Allen Burfeind and sister Norma Yessen.
