Robert "Bob" Smith, of Jefferson City, died November 5, 2018, at Adams Street Place. Bob was born on May 26, 1943, to George and Edna (Farley) Smith. He attended Park and Central Grade School and was a 1961 graduate of Jefferson City High School. After graduation, Bob played third base as "Mainstreet Sally" for the California Cuties and continued playing slow pitch softball for Mid-State Oil which was then inducted into the Missouri State Slow Pitch Softball Hall of Fame for the years of 1974 - 1976. Bob was a car salesman for over 20 years in Jefferson City and was one of the co-founders of Tri Cap Wrestling in Jefferson City. Bob loved to golf and spend time with his family and friends especially his Thursday morning Hy-Vee coffee club of Jim Ainsworth, Larry Earleywine, Harvey Idel, Danny Claypool, Marvin Register, Jim Convery, Clifford Maddox, Gary Putnam and many others. Bob will be greatly missed. He is survived by: one daughter: Bobbi Sue Martinez of St. Louis; three sons: Bryan (Angelyn) Smith of Phoenix, Arizona, Bruce (Tara) Smith of Phoenix, Arizona, and Mark Oppenheim of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren: Dominic, Anthony, Marcos, Kendall, Alex, Logan, Jalen, Harlow, Ali; two brothers, Uel (Charlene) Smith of Jefferson City, Donald (Helen) Smith of Jefferson City, Mo.; one sister, Violet (Lynn) Meyers of Perry, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by: two daughters: Anna Marie Smith and Nikki Renae Smith; and one brother, George Smith. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services and interment will be private for the family at a later date.
