Celestine Elizabeth Buersmeyer, 97, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Jefferson City Manor. She was born September 13, 1920, in Osage Bend, the daughter of the late Michael Robert and Elizabeth Christine (Sommer) Buersmeyer. A 1938 graduate of St. Peter High School, Celestine was secretary from 1942-1961 for the Missouri State Highway Patrol; from 1961-1973 for Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; and from 1973-1990 for the Diocese of Jefferson City Chancery Office. Celestine retired October 31, 1990. Celestine was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Survivors include a brother, Connie (Mary) Buersmeyer, South Bend, Indiana; and twelve nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and their wives, Clarence (Hermina) Buersmeyer and Sylvanus "Syl" (Margaret) Buersmeyer; a young sister, Cornelia Buersmeyer; and a nephew, Mike Buersmeyer. Visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2018, at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martins, Missouri. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018, at the St. Martin Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis M. Nelen, officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
