Sharon Sue Cleveland

Mrs. Sharon Sue Cleveland, age 69 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, at home surrounded by her family. Sharon was born on November 19, 1948, in Moberly, Mo., a daughter of Vernon O. and June D. (Bach) Smith. She was married on November 20, 1998, in New Bloomfield, Mo. to Robert E. Cleveland, who preceded her in death on March 21, 2013. A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Sharon graduated from Jefferson City High School. She was employed with the City of Fulton as the Purchasing Agent, which she held for 18 years until her retirement in December 2011. Sharon was actually employed with the City of Fulton a full 27 years with holding the Accounts Payable position prior to being made the Purchasing Agent. She had previously been employed with the State of Missouri Revenue Department. Sharon held a deep faith and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. She was active with the church and served as the church Secretary, Sunday School Superintendent and the Leader of the Woman's Auxiliary. Sharon severed as mayor of New Bloomfield, Mo. for three terms from 1991 through 1997. She enjoyed scrapbooking, making quilt tops for family, reading in her free time, spending time with her granddaughter and her fur-babies Scooter and Tinkerbell. Survivors include: one daughter, Mishelle Golden of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Thomas Smith of Eldon, Mo.; two sisters, Sandra Oidtman of Jefferson City, Mo. and Shelly Hammond (husband Dane) of Russellville, Mo.; one granddaughter, Saharra Dawn Webb of Jefferson City, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; one son, Vernon S. Golden on July 12, 1981; and her beloved fur-babies, Angel and Littlebit. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at the United Pentecostal Church, 119 S. Grant Street, Jefferson City, Mo. 65101. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at the United Pentecostal Church with the Reverend Richard Ward officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family of Sharon Cleveland, care of Freeman Mortuary.
