Mrs. Ethel E. "Betty" Biele, age 87 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Jefferson City Manor surrounded by her family. Betty was born on October 5, 1930 in Jefferson City, Mo., a daughter of the late Willis and Eula (Surface) Ecton. On October 9, 1945 she was united in marriage to Joy O. "Dick" Biele, who preceded her in death on August 19, 1985. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Betty was a homemaker and worked for the Jefferson City Day Care for 16 years until her retirement in 2002. The loves of Betty's life were her Savior Jesus Christ, her family and her church family. She attended church at Southwood Hills Church of God (Holiness). Survivors include: a daughter, Mary Rackers (husband Bob) of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sons, Richard Biele (wife Paulette) of Winter Haven, Fla. and Roger Biele of Sedalia, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Tom Biele Sr. (wife Sierra), Tabitha Moffat (husband Mike), Kim Tooke (husband Bryan), Tania Marziano (husband Anthony), Ann Baumhoer (husband Shane), Andy Rackers (wife Mollie) and Roger Biele II; 13 great-grandchildren, Cameron Moffat, Taylor Blair (husband David), Morgan Hite (husband Del'Von), Tim Tooke (wife Whitney), Madison Tooke, Tom Biele Jr. (wife Shelby), Carmella Biele, A.J. Marziano, Gia Marziano, Courtney Caige Rackers, Matthew Dean, Andrew Scheulen and Kimberlie Rackers; two great-great-granddaughters, Ainsley Tooke and Nevaeh Vaughn with another two on the way; one sister, Ruth Hutinger (husband Jim) of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Gene Ecton of St. Charles, Mo.; brother-in-law, Lloyd McCormick of Montgomery City, Mo.; step-mother, Sylvia Ecton; half-sister, Loretta Campbell (husband Sonny); half-brother, Bert Ecton; step-sister, Connie Vance, all of Wichita, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Eula Biele; grandson, Mark Rackers; great-grandson, Joseph Rackers; two sisters, Verna Mae McKinney and Beverly McCormick; three brothers, Willis Ecton Jr., Robert "Bobby" Ecton and Don Ecton; one brother-in-law, Clarence McKinney; and four sisters-in-law, Billie Ecton, Pauline Ecton, Ida Ecton and Ina Ecton. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2018 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Chad Hunting officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
