Anita Dorene Epps, 65, of Mexico, Missouri, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Columbia Manor in Columbia, Missouri. She was born October 3, 1952, in Boonville, Missouri, the daughter of the late Dora Mae (Cayce) Mack. She was a graduate of Jefferson City High School, and went on to attend Lincoln University in Jefferson City. Anita was united in marriage in 1984 to Stewart V. Epps, who preceded her in death on September 19, 2010. Anita worked for the State of Missouri - Department of Revenue for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E., Order of the Eastern Star, and Daughters of Isis. Anita enjoyed traveling, shopping, socializing, talking and telling stories, music, and playing cards. Most of all, she loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anita is survived by a son: Dominic DuHart (wife Terra) of Columbia; a daughter: Danielle DuHart of Columbia; father: James O. Mack of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren: Dominique K. DuHart, James D. DuHart, Ashton York, Terrance Jackson, Jazmin D. DuHart, Ajahné T. Warner, Arianna Kasper, Zachary DuHart, Rowan P. Zimmerman; seven great-grandchildren: Mi'yea Y. DuHart, Jayden Conely, Arianna Kendall, Mekhi V. DuHart, Jayce K. DuHart, Dreyce D. DuHart and Olive G. English; a niece: Saunjina Cayce; two nephews: Terrance Cayce and Corey Robinson; great-niece: Averi Fleming; two great-nephews: Dreighton Cayce and Cylas Cayce; godson: Landis Adams; and goddaughter: Meka Cayce. Friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home with Rev. Marion S. Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
