Sylvia Arizona George

Sylvia Arizona George, 96, of Jefferson City, formerly of Eldon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Adams Street Place in Jefferson City. She was born on May 2, 1921, in Eldon, the daughter of William Edgar and Eliza Arizona (Acres) Bond, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on April 23, 1941, in Tuscumbia to Frank Perron George, who preceded her in death. She was a wonderful homemaker and caretaker of her family. She enjoyed sewing beautiful quilts, cooking delicious meals and growing bountiful gardens while canning the produce they rendered. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eldon and taught Sunday School for many years. She is survived by one son-in-law: Steve Saak of Jefferson City; one daughter-in-law: Alvia George Stiffler of Jefferson City; two grandchildren: Robbie (Heather) Saak of Independence, Missouri and Jeana (Chad) Thomas, Holts Summit, Missouri and 17 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her children: Frank Perron George Jr., Sue Jean (George) Saak and Sylvia Louise George and her siblings: Tandy, Grace, Frances, Helen Marie and Peggie. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Millard-Rekus Family Funeral Chapel. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Millard-Rekus Family Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Allen Cemetery in Olean.
