Robert Christopher Chruma, 46, Jefferson City, Mo., died peacefully in his home, early Sunday morning, March 25, 2018. Chris, as he was known, was born December 10, 1971, in Millington, Tenn. He was the son of Dwight F. Chruma of Las Vegas, Nev., and Rosalie (Rosie) Bennett Chruma of Jefferson City, Mo. Chris was a 1990 graduate of Jefferson City High. He graduated from UT Austin with a degree in History, and had a Master's Degree in Military History. He loved the military and supported the Wounded Warrior group. His maternal grandfather, Robert Charles Bennett, was a decorated hero in WWII and was KIA in Korea. Chris was named after him and received his love of the military from hearing stories about his grandfather. Chris was dearly beloved by his family and friends; he was a stranger to no one, extremely intelligent, funny and kind. He became a bone marrow donor to a dying young man who is still living. He is survived by his daughter, Faith Santos, Rhode Island; younger sister, Shelley; his parents; his paternal grandmother, Lorraine Phillips; his paternal uncle, John Chruma (Sharon), their children, John and Stephanie; his maternal aunt, Sharon (Roger) Crothers, their children Jennifer and Zack; his aunt, Pat (David) Roberts, and her children, Adam (Corrie) children, Emma and Joseph, Chet (Denise), and Casey McKinney and daughter Rhegan; Chris' fiancé, Annie Kittrell and her son Kehlson Swafford. Chris rededicated his life several weeks ago, and his family is secure in the knowledge that he is in heaven finally getting to know his grandfather, Robert, and with his maternal grandmother, Erika, whom he loved so much his entire life. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans. Celebration of his life and Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at House of Prayer, 2707 West Main St., Jefferson City Missouri.
