Larry Joseph Dulle, 72, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Heisinger Bluffs. He was born May 16, 1946, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Sylvester Herman and Esther Marie (Dulle) Dulle. He attended St. Mary's Special School in St. Louis. Larry was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph. He worked 46 years in maintenance at Delong's Inc. Larry could be seen pulling a push mower up the steep hills with a rope to cut the grass along Dix Road. He was a good and faithful employee, never missing a day's work and never having to use an alarm clock to wake himself up. An avid Cardinal fan, Larry listened to the games with his radio pressed up against his ear even while watching his nieces and nephews play their ballgames. He updated the family on the score between innings. He went everywhere with his radio so he wouldn't miss a game. Bowling was another favorite hobby on Monday nights and playing bingo at many parish picnics, the Eagles, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Larry also had amazing fishing skills. He loved to fish at Binder Park, on the Maries River, Bennett Springs, and the family farm lake in Eugene. He liked to fish with crickets that he only got from Mertens Live Bait & Tackle shop in Apache Flats. The family called him the "fish whisperer". Larry drove his beloved blue Dodge Dakota truck that he nicknamed, "Old Blue", aka "Uncle Larry's Truck". When he was no longer able to drive, a niece bought the truck with one stipulation: anytime there was a family function or when they went to a Cardinal game, he would be picked up in "Old Blue". And, he always wanted to know when "Old Blue" went to the car wash. Survivors include a brother, Ralph (Rosie) Dulle, Jefferson City; two sisters, Elaine "Liz" Short, Jefferson City; Doris Rauschelbach, Kansas City; 13 nieces and nephews; 27 great-nieces and nephews; and 19 great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Bud Short. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Joshua J. Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice. Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
