Richard Henry Stegeman

Richard Henry Stegeman, 78, of Centertown, Mo., passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Linn, Mo. He was born on April 30, 1940, in Taos, Mo., the son of Roman Stegeman and Sophia (Hoffman) Stegeman, both of whom preceded him in death. Richard was united in marriage on August 18, 1962, at the Frankenstein Catholic Church to Carol M. Stegeman who also preceded him in death on December 13, 2012. Richard was the president and a member of the Thrashers Association, had a small engine repair business in Centertown, Mo., ran Ricks Country BBQ with his wife for many years and owned and operated Stegeman Charcoal Co. in Taos, Mo. for over 35 years. Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing bluegrass music, spoiling his two little dogs and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. Survivors include: two sons, Michael John Stegeman and wife Carla of Centertown, Mo., Daniel Raymond Stegeman and husband Virgill Dowell of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Donna Catherine Swyers and husband Bryan of Loose Creek, Mo.; two brothers, Jim Stegeman, Jerry Stegeman; five sisters, Anna Marie 'Ann' Carel, Elizabeth 'Betty' Gillmore, Rosaline Thomas, Frances Stegeman, Joanie Heislen Luetkemeyer; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Stegeman and Louis Stegeman. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service following at 11:00 a.m., both at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the Centertown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo.
