Alta May (Bolinger) Kirchoff

Alta May (Bolinger) Kirchoff, 84, of California, Mo., went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 30, 2018 with her family by her side. May was born November 28, 1933 on her family's farm west of California, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Shikles) Bolinger, who preceded her in death. She attended Oak Hill School near her home and graduated from California High School in 1951. On December 29, 1951, May was united in marriage to William R. Kirchoff, who survives of the home. After high school, May worked for the State of Missouri, Department of Revenue until 1995, when after 44 years, she retired to look after her grandchildren. Known to her family as Nanie, her life's work and greatest joy was being a homemaker, raising her two daughters, and taking care and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May enjoyed traveling and weekly shopping trips with her close friends, Shirley Bryant, Lois Jean Daniel and Frankie Bolinger. She was also fond of meeting her friends from school and work for lunch in Jefferson City. May was a member of the Extensionette Club for over 50 years. May was a member of the First Baptist Church and Flag Spring Baptist Church in California, Mo. She had a strong Christian faith and read her Bible and devotional each day. In addition to her husband, May is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Douglas) Bolin of St. Louis, Mo., and Christy (Spencer) Clark, Jefferson City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Erika (Brett) Lennon, Dardenne Prairie, Mo., Zach Bolin, Overland Park, Kan., Brittany (Bryce) Bell, Ballwin, Mo., and Shelby Clark, Jefferson City, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Brady Thomas Lennon and (twins) Emily Anne and Caitlin May Lennon; one sister-in-law, Frankie Bolinger; and 15 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Kevin Kirchoff; one sister, Hazel Jobe; and three brothers, Kelly, Layton, and her twin, Albert Ray Bolinger. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at California First Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 2, 2018 at California First Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev.
