James E. Johnson

James (Jim) E. Johnson, 77, of Fulton, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at home with his wife and son. He was born December 23, 1940 in Pinal County, AZ, the son of Addie (Dyer) and Ewel Johnson. Jim moved to Callaway County in 1969. He was married August 2, 1982 to Lynda L. (Deierl) Johnson. Jim was Veteran. He served in the Army for six years, beginning at the age of 17. He worked for Amco Oil in the fertilizer business for 22 years. In 1986 he bought the business from Amco Oil in Kingdom City. He then bought Val-U-Line in Auxvasse in 1988 and moved all the business to Auxvasse. His wife Lynda worked with him in the business until they retired in 1999. Jim is survived by his wife of the home, his son, Brian Deierl (Leslie) of Fulton, daughters Jamie Coleman (Walter) and Shelley Bryant (Kevin) both of Auxvasse, and Keith Johnson of Fulton. Grandsons Nathan Coleman and Michael Coleman of Auxvasse, 13 other grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, sister, daughter, Kathleen Natsch, and son, Daniel Deierl. Arrangements were handle by Debo Funeral Home. Jim was cremated with his family saying a final farewell on Saturday, July 7.
