Myron A. Maxey

Myron A. Maxey, 74, of Holts Summit, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Monday, July 2, 2018. Myron was born on October 13, 1943, in Kentucky to the late Edgar and Tildia Stigall Maxey. On December 24, 1966, he was united in marriage to Carolyn S. Livingston in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Myron was a 1961 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He joined the Missouri Army National Guard in 1964, then later transferred to the Missouri Air National Guard. In 1994, Chief Maxey was named Outstanding Air National Guard Personnel Manager following a national competition. Chief Master Sergeant Maxey retired with 37 years of service. Myron loved to travel with his wife Carol and spent many winters in Florida. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church of Holts Summit. He is survived by his wife Carol Maxey of Holts Summit; one daughter: Sarah (Jeff) Hyman of Holts Summit; four grandchildren: Erich Kempker of Fulton, Greg Hyman, Nicholas Hyman and Olivia Hyman of Holts Summit. Myron is preceded in death by his loving son Darren in 2004. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit with a prayer service to follow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, in Holts Summit with Fr. Joseph Corel officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery with full military honors. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Andrew Catholic Church.
