Dora Mae McBrayer

Dora Mae McBrayer, age 80, of Ava, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield following a long illness. Dora was born February 20, 1937, in North Carolina, the daughter of Samuel Perry Andrews and Nancy Cansadie (Shipman) Andrews. Dora was a homemaker and loved to play cards and watch Bob Ross Paint on tv. She was married to John McBrayer, who preceded her in death. She is survived by four sons: Starlin Wade (Pam) Andrews of Tebbetts, Leonard Earl Carr of Ava, Ed (Tony) McBrayer and William McBrayer, both of Ava; one daughter: Debbie (Andy) Austin of Hendersonville, N.C.; her puppy, Pretty Girl; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John McBrayer, and great-grandson, Taylor Andrews. No services are planned at this time.
