Alma Belle Chambers, 91, of California, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018, surrounded by her daughters at California Care Center California, Missouri. Alma Belle was born December 23, 1926, near Latham, Missouri. She was the fifth daughter of nine children of Fred and Pearl (Scott) McFarland. Alma Belle was married to Richard Chambers on December 18, 1948. Richard preceded her in death on January 8, 2006. At an early age, she was employed at the California Pants Factory and was a checker at the Kroger grocery store. She was an employee at Farmers and Traders Bank from 1951 until 1990. Alma's life was dedicated to enjoying one day at a time. She spent a great deal of her time making scrapbooks of special moments for each of her grandchildren. She loved to keep a calendar record of daily events and enjoyed mailing cards to her friends and family to mark those events. Early in Alma's life she was a member of the Pilot Grove Baptist Church and a member of the First Baptist Church in California since 1950. She attended church on Sunday and looked forward to her time with the TEL-Dorcas Sunday School Class. Alma Belle is survived by: two daughters, Mary Lee Schreck of Bolivar and Janet Ruth Dueber (Randy) of California; five grandchildren, Angel Geiser (Kenny) of California, Warren Kasper of Marshall, Matthew Schreck (Emily) of California, Miranda Fox (Levi) of Bolivar and Michael Schreck of Overland Park, Kan.; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jordon and Lauren Belle Geiser, Jace and Jackson Schreck all of California, Luella and Riker Fox both of Bolivar; one brother Dr. Emmett McFarland of Rosarito, Mexico and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: two brothers, Almon Patrick McFarland and James Daniel McFarland; two sisters, Nellie Grace Bolin and Lennie Maxine Walls; two infant sisters and one infant brother. The family will receive friends at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service on Sunday, January 28, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2018, at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service with Dr. Jeremy Anderson officiating. Interment will be at California City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or Flag Spring Cemetery.
