Ione L. Havens-Hughes

Mrs. Ione L. Havens-Hughes, age 102, of St. Louis, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018. Ione was born in St Louis to the late Thomas and Mabel [nee Adelsberger] Thiel. She loved playing cards, especially Canasta, enjoyed her Women's Club at Church, and traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. Surviving are two children: a daughter, Patia Lee Tschannen, and a son, Thomas [Sharon] Havens; six grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two husbands: Gustavus Havens and Arthur Hughes. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Jefferson City. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, February 23, at Valhalla Chapel, in St. Louis, Mo. with funeral ceremony at 1 p.m. Interment Private at Valhalla Cemetery.
