Teresa Kaiser

Teresa Kaiser, age 94, of St. Thomas, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. She was born in St. Elizabeth on September 20, 1923, daughter of the late Sam and Mary (Luetkemeyer) Jurgensmeyer. On February 23, 1946, in Kansas City, Teresa married Joseph Herman Kaiser, who preceded her in death on September 13, 2016. Teresa loved being surrounded by her family and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Teresa was a member of several organizations including St. Thomas Quilting Club, St. Ann's Sodality, and was on a bowling league for several years. She was a proud homemaker and enjoyed helping her husband, Joe, with chores on the farm and gardening. Teresa was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. She is survived by six sons, Alfred (Margie) Kaiser, David (Gayle) Kaiser, Arthur (Linda) Kaiser, Eugene Kaiser, Roger Kaiser, and Michael (Patricia) Kaiser; one daughter, Terri Luebbering (Dale); 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren with one on the way. She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Paul and Ryan Kaiser; one great-grandson, Brayden Kaiser; three brothers; and three sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in St. Thomas with Fr. Jeremy Secrist officiating. Interment will be held in St. Thomas Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m., on Friday, February 2, at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Masses or St. Thomas Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.
