Maxine Roberts

Maxine Roberts, 94, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at The Bluffs. Maxine was born on March 30, 1924, in Minonk, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Amy (Kent) Casteel, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on November 9, 1943, to James Kay Roberts who preceded her in death in 1990. In 1995, she married Dennis Tipton, he preceded her in death in 2017. She worked for many years in various secretarial positions for the University of Missouri. She enjoyed boating and waterskiing at the family cabin on the Lake of the Ozarks. Most of all, she loved time spent with family and friends. She is survived by: her son, Randy (Glenna) Roberts of Jefferson City; son-in-law: Ed Carey of Columbia; grandchildren: Kody (Tasha) Roberts, Erin Carey, Beth Carey, Ryan (Erynn) Carey, and Amy (Bryce) Richardson; great-grandchildren: Kinnley, Jaxon, Gabriel, Ainsley, Bella, Eric, Sam and Jace. She was preceded in death by: one daughter: Linda Carey in 1990; and two brothers: Carroll and Wally Casteel. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service following at 7 p.m. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
