Elizabeth "Betty" (Eichholz) Lepper, 84, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2018, at Heisinger Bluffs. She was born on November 28, 1933, in Westphalia, a daughter of the late Clemens and Bernadine (Scheppers) Eichholz. Betty attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Westphalia. She was employed at Tweedie's, International Shoe Factory and retired after 32 years of service from Scholastic in 2001. Betty was a dedicated employee and spent over 16 years at WalMart, retiring in 2010. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2693 Auxiliary, the American Legion and the Happy Hollow Club. Betty enjoyed crafts, reading, crocheting, gardening, playing cards, family bus trips and word search puzzles. Her favorite meal consisted of fried chicken and sweet tea, especially if it was at Mel's Diner. No matter what time of year, Betty loved wearing her Snowmen sweatshirts. Betty had a strong faith in God and cherished her friends and family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty is survived by her children: Judy (Bill) Van Loo and Larry Lepper (Theresa), both of Jefferson City; grandchildren: Kimberly Waller (Troy) of Boonville, Cory Van Loo of Pueblo, Colorado, Nicholas Lepper (Sally) of Jefferson City, Nathan Lepper (Michelle) of Jefferson City, and Lindsay Ortmeyer (Chris) of Holts Summit; great-grandchildren: Hannah Gross, Harley Waller, Christopher Gross, Alyssa Gross, Elizabeth Lepper and Beckett Lepper; sibings: Eddie Eichholz (Vernie), Charlie Eichholz, Ronnie Eichholz (Pat), Jerry Eichholz (Shirley), Jo Ann Mertz (Ron), Bobbie Eichholz (Mary) and Norman Eichholz (Alice); the father of her children: Harold Lepper and numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by granddaughter: Aja Johnson-Van Loo; sisters: Judy Eichholz and Marilyn Linnenbrink; brother: Stanley Eichholz; sister-in-law: Leona Eichholz; and brother-in-law: Irvin Linnenbrink. Friends will be received from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with a 4:00 p.m. Remembrance with Pastor Jim Mueller and family led rosary. Prayer Service and additional visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia with Fr. Anthony Viviano officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Westphalia. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Preferred Hospice or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia.
