Georgia Marie Hampton, 91, of Fulton, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Fulton Medical Center. Georgia was born May 15, 1926 in Callaway County to Emery and Hallie Dolman Jones, who preceded her in death. She married Royal Clifford Hampton on April 4, 1947 and he preceded her in death. She was a graduate of New Bloomfield High School where she was a member of the girls basketball team. She also took some correspondence courses through Lincoln Services. Georgia worked at the shoe factory in Fulton and then for 25 years for the State of Missouri Division of Family Services until her retirement. She was a devoted Christian who loved God and her family above all. She had been a member of Lockwood Baptist Church in Mexico, Missouri and then at Providence Baptist Church in New Bloomfield. She was Christ-like in all of her endeavors including teaching Sunday School and being a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader. Her life was a living example of kindness, loving and helping others and most importantly serving the Lord. Georgia never met a stranger and was an instant friend to all. She always had a smile on her face and went out of the way to help others, always putting the needs of others first. A life lived as Georgia lived cannot die, but will live on in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved her. Her family finds peace and comfort knowing that she is with the Lord in Heaven and heard the words "well done, thou faithful beloved servant". She is survived by daughter, Delores (Chuck) Nichols of New Bloomfield; sons, Clifford (Donna) Hampton of Holts Summit and James Ralph (Emi) Hampton of Mexico, Missouri; brothers, Harold Dean (Doris Mae) Jones of New Bloomfield and Dorris (Margaret) Jones of Fulton; grandchildren, Hallie (Butch) Malone, Charles Bowers, Linda Bowers, Brian (Dana) Nichols, Stephanie (David) Laney, Royal (Keena) Hampton, Clifford Hampton Jr., Crystal (Chad) Kempker, Houston (Monica) Hampton, Eric Ammerman and Charla Ammerman; 28 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Raymond, Emerson, Edward and Jimmy Jones; sisters, Beatrice, Bernice and Ethel Mae Miller; and great-grandson, Matthew Hampton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial will follow at Middle River Cemetery near Tebbetts, Missouri. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
