Loraine (Westgard) Gordon, 90, of St. Louis, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017, at the Cottages of Lake St. Louis surrounded by her family. She was born January 3, 1927, in Wayland, Missouri, the daughter of the late James A. and Bertha (Goldammer) Westgard. She was united in marriage on February 7, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri to Wilbur Paul "Rip" Gordon, who preceded her in death on July 2, 2009. Loraine was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, making crafts, and taking photos. She was a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church in Independence, Missouri for over 50 years, and in recent years she attended Spring Valley Baptist Church in Raytown, Missouri. While attending Blue Ridge Baptist Church, she was a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years and was involved in the Good Neighbor Craft Group, an organization that worked to benefit the Missouri Baptist Children's Home for over 30 years. Survivors include one son, Craig (Charlotte) Gordon, Wentzville; two grandsons, Cliff Gordon (Lauren Mills) and Clay (Kirsten) Gordon; two great-grandchildren, Ayden and Braylynn; two nieces, Gayla Steenbergen and Gale (Jon) Schaffner; one nephew, Glen (Jackie) Steenbergen; and their families and other extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Mattie Steenbergen; and her brother-in-law, Gerald Steenbergen. Visitation will be 12 noon to 1 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 8435 Mt. Olive Rd., Russellville, Mo. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 8435 Mt. Olive Rd., Russellville, Mo., with Pastor Alan Earls officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Eugene, Mo. Memorials are suggested to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home, Byrne Campus in Peculiar, Missouri, 11300 St. Charles Rock Road, Bridgeton, MO 63044. Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville is in charge of the arrangements.
