Helen Gertrude Siebeneck, 99, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. She was born June 5, 1918, in Wardsville, the daughter of the late Joseph Anton and Cora Alice (Fisher) Wachter. She was united in marriage on August 25, 1943, in Jefferson City to Archie Alfred Siebeneck, who preceded her in death June 20, 2001. In earlier years, Helen worked at Tweedie Shoe Factory. Later, she retired after 20 years from the Jefferson City Public School as a cook at East School. Helen was a long time member of First Baptist Church. A gentle woman, Helen's life-focus was her family, especially her grandchildren and her faith. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, gardening and when asked what she wanted to eat, she always replied, "I could take some fried chicken." Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Mertens, Jefferson City; a son, Dale (Pat) Siebeneck, Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Darla Kay (Brian) Holthaus, Cedar Falls, Iowa; Carissa (Erik) Siebeneck-Anderson, St. Louis; and Kent Siebeneck, Frankfort, Germany; five great-grandchildren, Kaylee Holthaus, Claire Holthaus, Caleb Holthaus, Ella Anderson, and Charlotte Anderson; and lots of nieces and nephews, especially, Karen, Judy, Donald and Renilda. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Floyd "Bud" and Kitty Wachter; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Leonard Hammond, and her twin, Hilda and Walter Lauf; a son-in-law, Robert Mertens; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Viola and Vincent Schrimpf, Catherine and Emil Mertens, Nina and Raymond Loesch, and Beulah (Joe Nilges) Hager. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m., Monday, October 9, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, October 9, 2017, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Doyle Sager officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to ETC Relay For Life, Attn: Rosie Verslues, 1916 Bald Hill Road, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
