Frank E. McClatchey, 74, of Holts Summit, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his residence. He was born on October 17, 1942 in Pueblo, Colorado, the son of Raymond E. and Ruth D. McClatchey. He was united in marriage on June 5, 1965 in Simla, Colorado, to his wife Linda. Frank was a 1960 graduate of Pueblo East High School and attended Pueblo Junior College and Mesa State. He worked in engineering for the Colorado Department of Transportation from 1964 until his retirement in 1998. He loved history, particularly North American Railroads. He enjoyed bridge and other games and puzzles. An avid sports fan, he was a lifelong fan of the Denver Broncos. He loved to travel and spent much of his early retirement visiting new places with his wife Linda. One of his greatest loves was time spent with his many grandchildren, all of whom adored him. Frank was a member of the Jaycee's in Grand Junction, Colorado. In Sterling, Colorado, he became a member of the Elk's Club and also served as a City Councilman. He was a member of several Southern Baptist congregations across Colorado, as well as Missouri, and served as a deacon at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sterling, Colorado. He is survived by his wife: Linda of the home; three children: Tammy (Jerry) Rodgers of Jefferson City, Terri Garmendia of Boise, Idaho and David McClatchey of Holts Summit; two sisters: Shirley (Ray) Haithwaite of Fort Collins, Colorado and Linda (Dave) Andersen of Columbia, South Carolina; and six grandchildren: Andrew Morgan Crawley, Faith C. Beller, Joshua R. Eitel, Elisabeth R. Eitel, Faith Isabella Eitel and Sara J. Rodgers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Ruth McClatchey, and one infant brother. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors in Jefferson City, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Montgomery and Steward Funeral Home in Pueblo, Colorado. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Pueblo, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the American Lung Association or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
