Marion H. Rackers, age 91 years, was called home to the Lord after being fortified by the sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Westphalia Hills surrounded by family. She was born on July 13, 1925, in Wardsville, Mo., the daughter of Otto Herman and Henrietta Kundagunda (Knorr) Rackers. A lifelong resident of Wardsville, Marion graduated from St. Peter's High School. She began her career as a bookkeeper at Missouri Auto-Wrecking and then began her 45 year employment as a bookkeeper with Capital Auto Parts until her retirement. She cherished the friendships she made through her work at Capital Auto Parts. Marion was very active with the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville serving in the Ladies Sodality of St. Stanislaus, Women of Wardsville, and spent many hours of Adoration with our Blessed Lord Jesus. Being a wonderful, artistic quilter, she would tat and embroider pillow cases and doilies that she would give away to family as gifts. Marion enjoyed farming, vegetable gardening and tending to her flowers. She was an animal lover at heart, especially her love of cats. Survivors include: one brother, Harvey and wife Mary Dee Rackers; one sister, Doris and husband Charles "Smitty" Smith; and many nieces and nephews who were so dearly loved. They also cherished time with her on the farm and appreciated all her advice and beauty tips. She was also survived by Jayne Wills who was like a daughter to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and their spouses, Vernon and Alice Rackers, and Stanley and Betty Rackers; one sister, Ruby Rank; her longtime fianc, Jay Shryock, and three nephews, Doug Smith, Harry Rackers, and Roger Rackers. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 15, 2017, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville, Mo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 15, 2017, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Reverend I. C. Medina officiating. Interment will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions for Masses in honor of Marion at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
