Dorothy Ruth Ellison, 92, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the California Care Center in California, Missouri. She was born January 25, 1925, in Doe Run, Missouri, the daughter of the late Frank and Luvinia (McGraw) Hahn. She was a graduate of Doe Run High School in Doe Run, Missouri. On January 28, 1945, Dorothy was united in marriage to Curtis L. Ellison, who preceded her in death on August 16, 2009. Dorothy worked as a Secretary for the State of Missouri - Department of Employment Security. She attended the First Church of God in Jefferson City. Dorothy moved around over the years with her husband. They enjoyed traveling, bowling, and participating in church activities together. Dorothy was well read and enjoyed using the computer, painting, and needlework. Dorothy is survived by two children: Priscilla A. Warden (husband Franklin) of Jefferson City, Mo.; Thomas Lee Ellison of San Francisco, Calif.; four grandchildren: Leanne Cardwell, Laura Smith, Scott Warden, Stephen Warden (wife Kim); seven great-grandchildren: Andy, Haley, and Jane Cardwell, Carson Smith, Hannah Warden, Jack and Ruby Warden; and one great-great-granddaughter: Lennon Rose Greeno. Dorothy was preceded in death by five older brothers. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. Joe Gregory of the First Church of God officiating. Interment will be held in the Springfield National Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the First Church of God in Jefferson City, the Central Missouri Food Bank, or the Salvation Army.
