Sharon Rose (Potter) Hoskins, 64, of California, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at her daughter's home in Hartsburg, Missouri. She was born on November 27, 1952, in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas to Rev. Billy and Rose (Reichel) Potter. She graduated High School in Joplin, Mo. in 1970 and then began her career as a Hairdresser. In 1975, she met her future husband Arthur W. Hoskins while he was stationed at Whiteman AFB, they were married a year later in Joplin. Sam and Sharon's military career took them to Panama and Alabama, where he retired and they returned to California, Mo. Sharon was very strong in her Christian faith and loved to travel and be a witness to others. She was a member of First Baptist Church in California, Mo. "Mom did not know a stranger." She loved to share with others the great joys of her life and would often tell anyone who would listen about the pride she felt for her children and grandchildren. She loved St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, cooking and playing cards. Sharon is survived by: her husband Arthur W. "Sam" Hoskins of the home; her two sons, Joshua W. Hoskins (Tabatha) of California, Mo. and James R. Hoskins of McGuire AFB, N.J.; her daughter, Elizabeth M. Batye (Matt) of Hartsburg, Mo.; along with her brother, Steven R. Potter of Columbia, Mo. Additionally, she leaves behind six grandsons, three nieces, and three nephews. Along with her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by one brother, David R. Potter. The family will receive friends at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service with Rev. Dr. Greg Morrow officiating. Interment will be at California Masonic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made at www.fundthefuneral.com/sharon-rose-hoskins. Pallbearers will be Sean Potter, Mark Potter, Joe Potter, Frank Dansby, Zane Zismer, Christian Ross.
